A very talented writer. I enjoyed his writing style very much. The opening sentences draw you in to this compelling short story about a man who awakens every morning with a different identity - and dies every night. I am torn between wishing the story had been longer and the author had expounded more on the background of Stranger, and realizing that this short story is tightly written and works so well as it is. I just didn't want to stop reading.Product details

A Taste Sweet and Salty eBook Douglas Smith Reviews
When the story began I expected something like Grounghog Day. That's not what I got at all! Well written using vivid illustrations. Smith painted some wonderful word pictures. Nothing usually found in a short story. A terrific surprise.
A twisted tale of identity, love, and doing the right thing when it doesn't seem to matter. I liked the open-endedness of it, the lack of answers; getting readers to read between the lines is a nice skill, and the author has it.
This is an intriguing story written by a talented author. It's a short tale with a rather amazing hero. I won't soon forget this story. Be kind to yourself... read this story !
I enjoyed reading this short story. It is very well written. The book also includes excerpts of other short stories by the author.
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this short story! The story is compelling, I enjoyed the author's writing style, and the story line wasn't farfetched. I will definitely be reading other books from this author.
This strange little tale captured my fancy from the start. It has a rather unusual premise but the author makes it work perfectly. I felt the length of the story was appropriate and that the character development was excellent given the few pages with which the author had to work. I'm not a fan of books which contain the primary story and then a plethora of short blurbs from other stories written by the author, and unfortunately this is one of those. In any event, I liked the story and you probably will too.
I've read and enjoyed other stories by this author, so I had high hopes for this story. While it was well-written, I never felt like I fully connected with what the author was trying to do. The language was beautiful, the situation interesting, but I felt like I was being held at arm's length. I would check out more work by this author, I just didn't feel as if this was a fully realized idea.
I downloaded this story when it was free, but be aware that only around 40% of the file is the story -- the rest is promotions of other work by the author.
